Field Day: This year’s field day was held June 27 – 28.  It was held at Capitol Heights Baptist Church, 1720 E. Highway 14 & 83 in Pierre. A testing session was held at Field Day. Fred Stenner, KD0SJI upgraded to General and Paula Witt received her Technician license.  Congratulations to both of them.

Special thanks to Bob Bogart and the Capitol Heights Baptist Church for providing a place for Field Day with both a large parking lot to handle the outside activities and access to the church for other necessary activities! We have been there several years and it has worked well for the club.

New Business

Future Presentations: Who would like to do a presentation for next month or later this year? Possible topics: Antennas (on any band), propagation and what it means; Solar Activity and what it means to amateur radio; contesting how and why; anything else ham related that you are interested in supporting. Email Tam to tell him which you would like to do.

WV0H to Visit: Myron Schaffer, WV0H, former member of the Pierre Amateur Radio Club, will be visiting Pierre on his way back home from vacation. Myron was first licensed in 1988 and is familiar to Pierre hams from then until he moved to Colorado for career purposes. We invite anyone who knows Myron to come to the ham meeting and stay for some fellowship. Come even if you don’t know him. His wife Sara, KC0TRJ, may also be in attendance.
